IOM Slovenia participates in the international consultation "Gender perspective in the care and integration of migrants"
On Monday, 19 June 2017 IOM Slovenia participated at the international consultation "Gender perspective in the care and integration of migrants" organized by the Equal Opportunities Department of the Slovenian Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities in Ljubljana.
Ms Ana Jereb (IOM) and Mr Reza Shadani (Slovenian National Institute of Public Health) spoke about their work with asylum seeking men, which is part of the regional ‘Re-Health’ project. The project aims to facilitate timely and quality access to health care services by enabling health mediation in the asylum centres. The ‘Self- Help Booklet for Men Facing Crisis and Displacement’, published by the IOM, was also presented at the event as a tool to address specific psychosocial concerns of Syrian displaced men.
