Our Work
Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. Across Slovenia, IOM covers different areas of intervention, such as refugee resettlement and relocation, assisted voluntary return and reintegration, and family reunification.

IOM Slovenia joins the celebration of World Refugee Day
On Tuesday, 20 June, IOM Slovenia joined other organizations for the celebration of World Refugee Day. The event took place on Prešeren square in the city center of Ljubljana. IOM Slovenia together with the National Institute of Public Health distributed and presented promotional material on health and migration, labour market integration, as well as other IOM activites. IOM Slovenia presented the Skills2Work project, which is co-funded by the EU.
The event titled »Among us and With us« was organized by local non-governmental organisations Institute for African Studies, Association ODNOS and Cene Štupar – Ljubljana Public Education Centre. The event was attended by asylum seekers, refugees, governmental, nongovernmental organisations and other interested public.
