Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. Across Slovenia, IOM covers different areas of intervention, such as refugee resettlement and relocation, assisted voluntary return and reintegration, and family reunification.

Legal Assistance in Return Procedures
Duration: 32 months (10 November 2015 – 30 June 2018)
Donor: Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Slovenia and the EU Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF)
This partnership project with the Legal-Informational Centre for NGOs (PIC) featured the following three components:
- Informing migrants on the procedures and the possibilities of return, specifically regarding their legal rights and requirements;
- Logistical assistance in return procedures; and
- Implementation of a training programme on the legal aspects of return for law enforecement officers and public service providers in Slovenia.
